2. When Did This Storm Begin?

ok.....sorry it looks so janky. This is a simple quicky....
hmm not sure how to make the picture look bigger in the post...heh..

This theme was a tad difficult for me...I had a lot of ideas, but I was not sure how to draw them. And apparently couldn't do much w/ my ideas due to lack of time.
I'm sorry Emily that this was submitted past your due date!

(not sure if you could tell, but thats a bottle w/ money in it.......)

And HOW DO YOU DRAW CLOUDS!? Any tips?
Emily, your clouds are SO GORGEOUS! teach meeee.

  1. wow, this is a great concept! i love the dramatic silhouettes, especially the girl's pose. even though you can't see her face, you still get a lot of emotion just from the way she's leaning there. plus the highlights in her hair/clothes really pull it together. :D

but yeah, i was the same way with mine; i had a lot of ideas but didn't know how to pull them off.

haha and clouds.. normally i hate drawing clouds too, 'cause i suck at them. i just pulled up a bunch of references and kept them on screen to look at while i was painting. :)

  2. Haha, I like the bottle with money in it. That's something I was thinking of doing XD

I agree with Emily about the girl's pose. I wish my guy had a significant pose; he looks kinda stiff and ET-like.

I like the background pattern too. I especially like the direction it's spreading in. I think you could create something really cool by flattening things out and making them into patterns or something.

I think one of the main issues me and Nikki are having is not grabbing onto a distinct style like Emily already has. It's nice to experiment and stuff, but it'd be easier for both of us once we figure out what style we want to work in.
