re: thinking

Haha it's funny how we were all kind of thinking the same thing... Instead of getting discouraged though, this could be a great chance to have a discussion on what we originally wanted out of this blog and how we can still achieve that.

Why did we start this project to begin with? My take was that we had all fallen out of touch with art, and wanted to use a friend-evaluated/reviewed environment to keep us inspired and evolving.

I think Jin's idea would be a good direction to get us re-motivated. Each week (or two weeks) we can post art-related items or concepts that we're personally inspired by or interested in, and works that we've developed/started/completed in response to that inspiration, or some combination of the two.. maybe a little written blurb on why we're interested in whatever subject. At the very least have some form of work we did to show the others.. kind of like show-and-tell! And also as Jin said, it can be any kind of concept, typography, doodle, graphic design, whatever.

This is just a suggestion, so what do you guys think?

  1. My interest has broadened over past few weeks. I got involved in magazine layouts and web designs, which almost inevitably brought up many different aspects of graphic design. No matter what is is, I want the blog to have "cool" stuff, and stuff that makes us happy, and stuff that makes us want to get more involved in art.

I'm up for doing the bi-weekly art thing after our 10th theme of anatomy. :)

I noticed that Nikki had put up a really cool line art on her facebook profile, and I was a bit sad that wasn't up here XD I also wonder about your scrap books, Emily. I want to know what materials you've experimented with.

I hope to see all those things here ;)

  2. lmao. that line art you're talking about Jin is hella old. Its been on my DA for about a year......

lol and as i've said before, with out this blog, i probably wouldn't be drawing....so even if its forced for me, I'm still down for it. Mainly because I'm lazy... Its just like when someone doesn't want to excerecise out of laziness even though they should do it....lol....
